Work experience
Urban Outfitters. Display Artist, June 2004-current. Display artist is responsible for updating and maintaining seasonal graphics and colors on the walls, windows, and any other promotions or displays. Other responsibilities are designing and/or building any other furniture or fixtures used in the store. There is a spending budget the display artist maintains. When new stores open display artists from around the country travel to build new display for these stores.
Whitney Contracting. Independent contractor, Oct. 2001-June 2004. My responsibilities included design, labor, and book keeping. I would meet with a home owner, work out designs, estimate costs, obtain permits, and perform the majority of labor. I performed plumbing, electrical, framing, drywall, flooring, tile masonry, and finish trim work.
Walker Art Center. Art Installation Temp Crew, 2000, 2001. Responsibilities included preparing galleries and installing artworks. I also built crates for art works.
Gus Lucky’s Gallery. Gallery Director, Dec.1997-Oct. 2001. My responsibilities included reviewing submissions, selecting exhibits and performances, maintenance of the gallery, coordinating with artists, and assisting with installations.
Gus Lucky’s Coffee Shop. Proprietor and Manager, March 1998- June 2001. I opened the coffee shop to generate income for the art gallery. I managed all finances and staffing. With a nominal initial investment I started a food service business to support the gallery. The coffee shop generated 75% of the galleries operating budget |
